I’m excited to share with you what every Community Manager needs to know about managing a community to prevent abandonment.

Once upon a time on the internet, groups of people started forming their own special places, a bit like colorful gardens with their unique flowers and characters. And in this online world, a group of special people emerged “Community Managers”. They were like the gardeners, taking care of these online spaces.

What you should do as a Community Manager;

  • Imagine planting a seed in good soil. Community Managers begin by setting up its goals and what it stands for. It’s like taking care of a little plant, needing attention and time to grow.
  • As the community begins, it’s important to make everyone feel welcome. Community Managers act like friendly hosts, making sure everyone feels like they belong. It’s like being a host at a party and setting the mood for everyone.
  • Just like a garden needs water and care, a community needs regular attention. Community Managers talk with the community members, encouraging them to chat and connect. Make sure everyone’s ideas and thoughts are heard, like helping a garden grow.
  • Just like a castle keeps a kingdom safe, Community Managers build trust in the community. Listen to people, solve problems, and keep things clear. Trust is like the strong foundation of a safe online place.
  • In every garden, storms can come and challenge the plants. Similarly, challenges happen in communities. Community Managers stay strong, solve problems, and work hard to keep the peace and growth.
  • When a community does well and achieves its goals or complete a specific task like voyage, it’s time to celebrate. Community Managers join in the joy. The success of the community shows that the hard work put into it was worth it.

There are many misconceptions about Community Managers and Moderators. I came across an enlightening thread by Victory Adewojo that clarifies the differences titled “Community Managers are Moderators, but Moderators are not Community Managers.

In this online adventure, Community Managers are like the caretakers, making sure the communities stay healthy and grow, acting as an intermediary between a Web3 project and her community. Their caring and dedication shape the evolving story of online communities, providing a safe place for everyone.

If you find this helpful and would like to explore more intriguing topics in Web3, please consider giving me a follow, a clap and share for others.
